So far our Bistro team have shared our recipes for Fruits of the Forest Brownies, Chocolate Berry Marble Cake and our Chocolate Biscuit Cake and we think it’s only fair to include the very popular Millionaire Shortbread too.
So get your apron on and baking tray ready!
Millionaire Shortbread
The Shortbread
Ingredients:
170g Butter
75g Caster Sugar
240g Plain Flour
Method
Grease and line your baking tray with Parchment.
Cut the butter into small cubes.
Put all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and rub between you thumbs and fingers until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Put the mixture into your lined baking tray and bake at 160 Degrees for approximately 20 Mins. Or until golden brown.
Cover with a clean tea-towel and leave to cool.
The Caramel
Ingredients:
125g Butter
2 2/3 Tablespoons of Golden Syrup
¾ Teaspoon Rock Salt
265g Condensed Milk.
Method
Gently heat all the ingredients in a saucepan stirring regularly until it Caramelizes.
Pour the Caramel over the now cooled shortbread and leave to cool.
Once cooled, place in the fridge to set the Caramel.
The Chocolate
Method:
Melt 335g of Milk Chocolate either in a glass bowl placed over a saucepan of boiling water, or in a microwave on a low setting.
Pour the melted chocolate over the now set caramel.
Level it off with a palette knife and leave to cool before putting in the fridge to set the chocolate.
Then pop along to our light and airy Bistro to let us know how you got on. We are open to all, both indoors and outdoors and take-away is also available, Monday to Sunday, 9.00am – 4.00pm.
