My wife Brenda and I met and got married after I graduated from Cambridge. We went away for a decade or so, and then returned to bring up our family.

I was an entrepreneur and business guy for most of my career. Brenda had been a long-term hospice volunteer and so when I moved to a portfolio career, I was delighted to have the privilege of being Chair of Trustees at Arthur Rank. This was when we became an independent hospice, and built our fantastic new facility at Shelford Bottom.

Being an Ambassador lets me remain an enthusiastic champion and advocate for our wonderful charity. I like to reassure donors and supporters that we are doing important work and do it really well; that we spend all our money carefully and wisely; and that their support makes a massive difference.
