Susan shares her Living Well Experience

At the end of 2023, the Living Well Service patients were invited to feedback their experiences creatively. This continued in 2024 and now into 2025. Susan kindly shared her experience:
“This little butterfly, that I painted, symbolises life and passing through life. But also it’s very delicate and sometimes with Leukaemia I felt very delicate. I have a lung condition and I was told it was a serious and a life-limiting disease and it feels like it’s progressed quite a bit. For me the butterfly symbolises a kind of freedom to have a think about choices and making choices with life going forward.
Before I came to Arthur Rank Hospice, I was very much, in medical settings. But actually, I wanted to come here to think about living with a serious condition and the impact that has. Also, to consider the options I have. I am being considered for a lung transplant but there’s no guarantee I’ll have that or even live long enough to receive that.
Life is uncertain essentially so, I wanted to come somewhere just to think about having hope, when living with a condition like this.”
