Rotary Club Cambridge Rutherford’s raises £6,000 for Hospice

In a wonderful display of community support, The Rotary Club of Cambridge Rutherford orchestrated a triumphant Charity Golf Day.

The event, held in 2023, raised an impressive £6,000 for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, reinforcing the club’s dedication to making a meaningful impact.

This endeavour was marked by the presentation of a substantial cheque to Income Generation & Communications Director, Jodie Vaughan, and Head of Fundraising, Carolyn Start from the Charity from the Golf Club Day organisors, Charlie Kidman, Dick Barker and David Munro, at a lunch meeting at the Gog Magog Golf Club.

Over the years, the Rotary Club of Cambridge Rutherford has been a stalwart champion for end-of-life care in Cambridgeshire, demonstrating unwavering commitment by generously donating close to £60,000. Their impact extends beyond financial contributions, as they actively engage in a range of events to support the Hospice’s noble cause.

Carolyn commented:

“We had the pleasure of attending a celebratory lunch where we were presented with a generous donation from the renowned Annual Golf Club day.

The Rotary Club of Cambridge Rutherford have been longstanding supporters of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity for which we are so grateful. Thank you for continuing to raise awareness of the services we provide to our local community.“

From delightful garden lunches hosted by club members and Christmas collections previously held to the immensely popular annual Golf Day basking in the spring sunshine, the Rotary Club has consistently demonstrated its dedication to uplifting the community. These events not only serve as a testament to the club’s vibrant spirit but also as crucial ambassadors supporting the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity’s work.
