Sophie, Clinical Psychologist in the Patient and Family Support Team

Location-wise when I’m working at the Hospice, I’m based in the Patient and Family Support team office.  Our fantastic team consists of Clinical Psychologists, Bereavement Support Volunteers, a Social Worker, and a PA.

We work together to support the needs of patients, families, and bereaved people who are or have been under the care of the hospice and see people 1:1 in the treatment rooms of the Bradbury Wellness Centre, as well as spending time on the Inpatient Unit, if psychological support is needed.

My role involves providing psychological therapy or psychological support to patients and family members who are struggling emotionally, providing training for staff teams, providing clinical supervision for the volunteers, and helping to evaluate the service

At the time of writing this I’m still fairly new but I am really enjoying meeting the different teams and getting settled in!
