Patients visiting the Living Well Service at the Hospice, recently enjoyed a sensory garden session with Specialist Palliative Care Occupational Therapist, Isobel Curtis-Smith.

Whilst walking around the Hospice garden they chose and clipped flowers, herbs, grasses and ferns to create a collective artistic collage and small bouquets to take home.

Isobel explained:

“The social session encouraged activity, created discussions and an opportunity to research plants. They all enjoyed working together while touching, smelling and selecting different flowers and herbs that were unique to them and reminded them of childhood memories.”

Patients shared that they enjoyed the session and it was good to look at different plants and flowers and enjoy time in the Hospice garden.
