We are proud to celebrate that Events Officer, Lana Matthews, was awarded Cambridge Regional College‘s ‘Business Administration Apprentice of the Year’ on 6 February 2024.

Lana started working for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in 2016 and has worked in our Retail, Hospice at Home and Fundraising Teams. She started her Business Administration Apprenticeship in September 2022 and was supported by Pat White, Senior Office Administrator for the Community Team, before she retired, after working for the Charity for over 10 years, in December 2023.

The Apprenticeship consisted of coursework, an exam and a project to be presented to the end point assessor. The coursework covered a range of topics from finances to regulations and required 414 hours study completed both at work and at home.

Lana commented:

“I have really enjoyed completing the apprenticeship and feel I have gained a lot of knowledge from it. I am very grateful to Arthur Rank Hospice Charity for allowing me to complete the apprenticeship alongside my role.

Winning Business Administrator of the Year came as quite a surprise and I am very grateful to Cambridge Regional College for the award and the lovely awards evening that I attended.”

Lana and Pat both attended the Red Carpet Awards Ceremony, at The Park Restaurant on the Colleges Campus on Kings Hedges Road in Cambridge, and there was a double celebration.  Pat collected the Cambridge Regional College’s ‘Employer of the Year for Business Disciplines Award’ on behalf of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity!

We’re honoured to receive this recognition for continuing to develop our employees in their career.
