In extremely adverse circumstances, we continue to provide essential front-line care to patients and families across Cambridgeshire.

We know that, however challenging the situation, we only get one chance to get end of life care right.

Our incredible colleagues are adapting, hour by hour, to keep everyone as safe as possible.

At the same time, they are struggling with the harsh reality of not being able to offer a comforting hug, or a hand to hold, to family members and their loved ones at moments of heart-breaking loss.

A devastating impact

The pandemic has already had a devastating impact on our ability to fundraise to sustain our vital services this year. Initial forecasts estimate a loss of £700,000 over the next six months.

We need to ensure that we can carry on delivering essential care and services now, whilst also ensuring that services remain sustainable into the future.

Will you respond to our SOS?

Please continue your financial support so that we can continue to provide essential services to our patients.

Our Inpatient Unit remains open and, as always, our colleagues are caring for patients around the clock.

Our community teams across the county are supporting patients and families in their own homes, through telephone calls, and face to face visits, including overnight care from our Hospice at Home team if needed.

Our Day Therapy team are making regular calls to patients and offering assistance, support and guidance where required.

Our Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre is still providing clinical treatments for patients who require these.

Our Patient and Family Support Team continue to provide bereavement and psychological support.
