On 26th
September 2019 the 5th annual #KickCancerCup charity football match
took place to raise money for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust, Oncology Day Unit
and Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

Both
charities are very close to the hearts of the Kick Cancer Cup Team as their
Captain, Samantha Isaacson, who at 25 years old was diagnosed with advanced
bowel cancel in March 2015. Having played football for longer than she can
remember and coaching both girls and women locally, Sam is well-known within
women’s football in Cambridgeshire.

Hearing the
words ‘You have Cancer’ Samantha decided to fight back and Kick Cancer and
raise money to support the lifesaving treatment that the team at the Oncology
Unit provide to people battling against cancer. In 2018 Sam decided to also
raise funds for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and invited us to be part of
the event. The 2018 match was a huge success and raised £2500 for each charity.
However, the 2019 match surpassed all expectations and raised an incredible £8100
for each charity!!

 Bec Beattie,
Community Fundraiser said, ‘We are so grateful to Sam and everyone involved in
bringing together the #KickCancerCup. This is a wonderful event for the whole
community to enjoy and at the same tome raises a phenomenal amount of money for
charity. Thank you so much to Sam, the whole #KickCancerCup team, spectators
and sponsors!’
