Charity of the Year support from Gog Magog Golf Club

We are thrilled to announce that Arthur Rank Hospice are the chosen charity for 2020, by the Gog Magog’s Lady Captain!
Each year, both the Lady and Men’s captain select their own charity to support throughout their year of captaincy. This support comes in many different forms, so do keep your eyes peeled for any golfing fundraising events over the year! The 2020 Lady Captain, Ros Roland, also happens to be a bereavement support volunteer at the Hospice and this is one of the reasons that the charity is so close to her heart.
The chosen charity by the Men’s Captain is the Sick Children’s Trust. We feel so fortunate, as a charity, to have been chosen by Ros. We are excited to be working together and for the year ahead! 2020 has certainly got off to a busy start! We have been thrilled to attend both the Captain’s Drive In, which was held in January, and to their Ladies Coffee Morning which took place on Wednesday 26th February. On Wednesday, it was wonderful to see such a full club house with members discussing plans for the season ahead and learning about both charities. After a fun session of Chair Yoga (as seen in the photo!), each charity was invited to give an overview of their services and background.
One of our Community Fundraiser’s, Bethany Brown, went along to the Coffee Morning and commented: “I felt so lucky to be able to attend the Ladies Coffee Morning at the Gog’s, on behalf of the Arthur Rank Hospice. It was a lovely opportunity to meet some more of their members and chat to them about our Charity. I want to extend our thanks to Ros, on behalf of the Arthur Rank Hospice. Not only for selecting us as her Charity of the Year, but for helping to raise awareness of our Charity and the work that we do.”
“It is only because we have the incredible support of our local community and organisations like the Gog’s Golf Club, that we are able to keep providing our care free of charge to patients in Cambridgeshire.”
