Palliative Care in MND

Tuesday 8 November 2022

19.00-20.30

We were delighted to invite you to this year’s online Annual Lecture, with guest speaker Dr David Oliver, who is a retired Consultant Physician in Palliative Medicine and worked at the Wisdom Hospice in Rochester, Kent for over 30 years.

He is an Honorary Professor at the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent. He has lectured and published widely on neurological palliative care, particularly on the care of people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

He was the Chair for the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence Guidelines on MND, released in February 2016.

He is principal editor of “Palliative Care of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis – from diagnosis to bereavement” and was the author “MND – A family affair” for people with MND and their families.

He has been involved in many projects across Europe and has spoken widely nationally and internationally.

A Personal Story from Lee Taylor

The evening also featured a personal story from Lee Taylor, who first spoke to us in 2021.

People ask, “What’s is like living with MND? but I’m not living with MND, MND chooses to live with me”.

Thank you to all involved and attended for an interesting and informative evening. Please see the video above for the recording of the evening.
