Sharon Allen
CEO
Sharon Allen joined the Charity as CEO in April 2019.
A qualified Social Worker, Sharon achieved her MBA from the University of Bradford in 2002 and was awarded an OBE in 2015 for services to homeless people, social care and housing.
She joined the Charity having been CEO at Skills for Care since 2010 and prior to this was CEO of St Anne’s Community Services.
Sharon has over thirty years experience of public service provision in social care and supported housing provision, most of this working in the charity sector.
Moving to Cambridge from Bradford in 2013, Sharon joined CHS Group as a board member and chair of Operations Committee and is also a Trustee with Age UK.
Having worked at regional and national levels and had family experience of hospice provision in other parts of the country, Sharon was excited by the opportunity to join Arthur Rank Hospice Charity to continue and develop the brilliant provision of this local charity.
Sharon was appointed Patron on Cambridgeshire Care Provider Alliance in 2020.
In 2021 she was elected as a Trustee for Hospice UK.
On Sunday 12 April she will be taking on the challenge of a Sky dive and explains why:
“With thanks to North London Sky Diving and Jen Richardson from Project Cambridge, I am jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet to raise money for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
It’s my privilege to lead this fantastic organisation and we need your support so I hope you’ll be able to give generously.”
