Once again we will walk together as a special way to remember and celebrate loved ones, all whilst raising funds for hospice care.

Join us for 2026
Get set to turn Wisbech green! All you need are comfy walking shoes and some colourful accessories (optional!) and you’ll be ready to walk 6km.
This event is all about remembering loved ones and raising funds for hospice care throughout Cambridgeshire.
Gather your friends, family, colleagues or sign up on your own to help make a difference and have a Saturday night with a difference!
The walk is taking place on Saturday 16 May 2026 and there’s one route of 6km. It’s fully signed / marshalled all the way.
As you walk through Wisbech, you’ll know that every step you take will be helping support someone going through a tough time.
FAQ
When and where is the walk?
The walk will be taking place on Saturday 16 May 2026, starting and ending at Elgood’s Brewery, North Brink Brewery, Wisbech, PE13 1LW.
How long is the route and is there a shorter option?
The walk is a circular 6km route, in and around Wisbech.
How much does it cost?
The Registration Fee is £10 for adults and children. We ask to raise funds in addition to this.
What is included in my registration fee?
As part of signing up for the walk, you will receive a technical t-shirt, a medal to take home with you, along with a hot drink and biscuits upon your return.
Can children take part?
Children between 10 – 15 years of age are welcome to register alongside a paying adult. Unfortunately children younger than 10 are not allowed.
What's the dress code?
There’s no dress code, we simply recommend wearing whatever you find comfortable to walk in. Each participant will receive their very own Star Shine t-shirt on the night and we very much encourage anything bright and wacky that will help make Wisbech a colourful sight on the night!
The walk will go ahead come rain or shine, so do keep an eye on the forecast in the lead up to the event and come weather ready!
How much is being raised?
We are hoping to raise over £10,000 from the night. With your help, we are sure that we can smash that goal and make a huge difference to the lives of so many cared for by the Charity!
How many people will be taking part?
We’d love to see over 150 walkers for Wisbech, so sign up now to be one of them!
How can I volunteer on the day instead of walking?
All volunteers are enormously appreciated and help us to make the evening a success. Please get in contact with the Fundraising Team by emailing events@arhc.org.uk or telephone 01223 675888 if you’d like to lend a hand.
Can I bring my dog?
You absolutely can! We welcome all well-behaved four legged friends on a lead who wish to join the walk with their owners. Dogs must remain outside at all times and please do make sure you pick up any toileting they do on route.
Do I have to fundraise?
Although not compulsory, we really encourage you to fundraise. You can do this as a group if you sign up with family and friends, or individually.
We’ll give you lots of support with fundraising tips and help you set up an online fundraising page so it’s really easy to get started.
Your fundraising will help make a difference to the support people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care.
What if I can't walk 6km?
The route is circular, so if you are unable to finish you will need to arrange to be picked up. If you don’t feel you can manage 6km and still want to be there on the night to show your support, then get in contact with events@arhc.org.uk to volunteer to help out and marshal!
Is there parking at the event?
Parking is available at Elgood’s Brewery. We do recommend car sharing where you can please.
Is there someone to buddy with if I come on my own?
Yes, please let one of the team know on the night and we will match you with someone else.
Are there any other Star Shine Night Walk events?
Yes! We have the Cambridge event on Saturday 20 June 2026. You can see more details here.
