What’s your New Year Challenge?

The New Year is often a time when people like to challenge themselves with a new goal and think about their own personal fitness.
In 2026, Arthur Rank Hospice Charity has a range of events and challenges for you to choose from:
Mission Mud – you and your friends and family won’t be able to resist having fun on the 1km course with 30 obstacles including big walls, slides, monkey bars, water pit, rope climbs and a ninja warrior style ramp. The event takes place on Saturday 9 May in Waterbeach but sign up early to avoid disappointment.
Star Shine Walk Wisbech – walk 6km around historical Wisbech on Saturday 16 May.
Star Shine Walk Cambridge – take on a 5 or 10 mile walk around the streets of Cambridge in Midsummer on Saturday 20 June.
Mount Toubkal – this exhilarating five-day journey, from 16-20 May, includes three days of trekking in Morocco! There will be steep, rocky paths to contend with and it’s all about endurance fitness, rather than speed. But the challenge will be worth it – the breathtaking views from the summit, stretching across to the Sahara Desert, and the immense sense of accomplishment will make every step worthwhile.
London to Paris Cycle Ride – are you ready to cycle from London to Paris from 8-12 July?! With long days in the saddle and some strenuous hill-climbs, imagine your sense of achievement as you reach the Eiffel Tower! We invite individuals as well as friends, family or corporate groups to join us on this very special journey, from fundraising to cycling, whilst collecting life long memories and meaningful friendships.
You can also find a wide selection of physical challenges to sign up to via our website.
We also have lots of other Community Fundraising activities and ideas on our website.
Supporters of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity choose to fundraise for our patients and their loved ones for a wide range of different reasons. Many have experienced the care of a loved one and are motivated to give back in anyway they can. But lots of people find us by visiting our Bistro or the Education and Conference Centre or hearing about our outstanding reputation in the Community and sign up to take part in an event or challenge.
Your support will enable the Charity to continue to support people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care. Thank you.
