Sepura staff have combined forces to raise over £4,000 for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, bringing the charity closer to their £100,000 target for their Hospice at Home service.
During the six-month period when Arthur Rank Hospice were the company’s chosen charity, staff took part in various fundraising activities, including treasure quests, gin tasting and karting.
Sepura chose to support Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in memory of David Armitstead, a colleague who sadly died in the care of the Hospice early in 2019.
Supporting Arthur Rank Hospice Charity has allowed our colleagues to get behind a great cause, in memory of our colleague David, while having fun and building relationships across the business. We are lucky at Sepura to have an active social programme allowing all our colleagues to play a part in supporting our chosen charity. This is a huge part of what makes Sepura such a positive working environment, encouraging co-operation and productivity across the business.
Joe McHugh, HR Director at Sepura commented “Arthur Rank’s Hospice at Home service enables patients to die peacefully and with dignity in their own home. Due to limited funding, each night the team is unable to provide care to one in three people referred to them, whose choice it is to remain at home. Arthur Rank Hospice launched the Help Us Be There appeal in May 2019 in the hope of raising £100,000 which equates to 200 additional nights of care to meet this unmet need. Sepura’s donation takes the current fundraising total above £90,000.”
Donna Talbot, Director of Fundraising and Communications at ARHC said:
“We could not be more appreciative of the efforts of the team at Sepura. The support from companies across the region is vital to funding our care provision and it is touching to see the lengths that people will go to supporting the charity. Thank you to everyone at Sepura for your efforts.”
