External Cladding Replacement works start at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity

To ensure our building remains safe, welcoming, and sustainable for the long term, we will be replacing the external cedar wood cladding at our Shelford Bottom Hospice over the coming months to a fire-retardant, hard-wearing material which has a similar appearance.
Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is committed to providing the very best environment for our patients, their families, our staff, volunteers, and the wider community.
This important project has been made possible thanks to a government grant, from the Department of Health & Social Care, which means the cost of the work will not come from charitable donations or impact the care and support we provide. We are deeply grateful for this funding, which allows us to make these improvements without drawing on the generosity of our supporters.
The replacement cladding will ensure your local hospice continues to meet the highest standards of safety, comfort, and energy efficiency.

We have planned the work carefully, working closely with our colleagues and partners so our services will continue as normal throughout this period. Our priority remains the wellbeing and experience of those who need us, and we will do everything we can to minimise any disruption.
We have now received approval from the local planning authorities to proceed. The project is due to start with scaffolding being erected from 8 September and completion by the end of December.
Our ‘Outstanding’ services are provided free of charge to patients and their families. Our aim being to provide the highest quality care, helping people to make every moment count. You can find out more about how we are funded here: arhc.org.uk/how-we-are-funded.
