Regent Construction, in Cambridge, have kindly sponsored Arthur Rank Hospice Charity’s Star Shine Night Walk Cambridge 2026.
They have also put together a team who have signed up to walk the route on Saturday 20 June. Jess Sheldon, Bid and Marketing Co-ordinator at Regent Construction kindly shared their motivation for supporting the event and the Charity:
“We chose to sponsor the Cambridge Star Shine Night Walk 2026, not only to support a vital local Charity, but also to give something back to an organisation that has meant so much to people within our own team.
As a Cambridge-based company, supporting our community is incredibly important to us and this felt like a meaningful way to do that while raising awareness and funds to support people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care.
A number of our employees and their families have been personally supported by the Charity and through those experiences, we’ve seen first-hand the compassion, dignity and level of care the team provides, which has made a lasting impact on us as a business.
The reassurance that loved ones are receiving the highest standard of care, in a supportive and dignified environment, cannot be overstated and it’s something we’re incredibly proud to support.”
Jess continued:
“It’s fantastic to see colleagues coming together to support such an important cause—particularly one that has had a personal impact across our team. Julie Sheldon, Amy Cooper, Lesia Bennett and myself are looking forward to walking on the night.
There’s a real sense of pride in being involved; taking part in an event like this goes beyond fundraising. It’s about showing support, raising awareness and standing alongside others in the community.”
Jess explained more about her awareness of the Charity:
“Before we signed up to sponsor the event we were aware of the Charity, however, like many people, we didn’t fully understand the breadth of services provided until we engaged more closely.
There can sometimes be a misconception that hospice care is purely about end-of-life support but what stood out to us is the holistic approach supporting not just patients but their families too, with compassion, respect, and a focus on quality of life.
It’s an incredibly positive and supportive environment, far beyond what many might initially expect.
While not everyone in our team has had direct personal experience, we all recognise the impact the Charity has on families during incredibly difficult times. The reassurance that loved ones are receiving the highest standard of care, in a supportive and dignified environment, cannot be overstated.”
Jess also urged others to support the Charity:
“We would strongly encourage others to support Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in any way they can through fundraising, volunteering, or corporate sponsorship. Hospice care plays a vital role in our communities and charities like Arthur Rank Hospice rely heavily on public and business support to continue delivering their services. The work they do is truly inspiring and makes a real, tangible difference to people’s lives.
The process has been very straightforward and well-organised from start to finish. The team has been supportive, communicative and genuinely appreciative of our involvement, which makes a big difference. It’s clear that they value partnerships and work hard to make sponsors feel engaged and part of the wider effort.”
Jess concluded:
“We’re incredibly supportive of everyone taking part and wish them the very best on the night.”
Julia Latif, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity commented:
“We are so grateful to have the support of ‘Regent Construction’ for our Star Shine Night Walk in Cambridge and we look forward to welcoming the team on the night. We care for over 3,800 patients and their families each year and sponsorship like this means our services can continue at no cost to them, at a vital time in their lives.”
