This summer, Arthur Rank Hospice Charity invites you to its much loved flagship fundraiser, the Star Shine Night Walk, returning to Wisbech on Saturday 16 May and Cambridge on Saturday 20 June 2026.

After an incredible 550 supporters took part last year, this event brings our community together to celebrate and remember. This year promises to be bigger and brighter as our walkers stride together, on one of the longest days of the year, to raise vital funds for the Hospice.

With a target of £60,000 we are inviting you and your friends, family and colleagues, to fundraise. It’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday night with purpose; supporting compassionate care for those who need it most across Cambridgeshire.

The Cambridge event starts and finishes at Shelford Rugby Club and you can choose from a 10-mile or a 5-mile route, making it an ideal outing for all ages. You don’t need to have a connection with the Charity to take part.

The beautiful night walk promises to be both uplifting and reflective, complete with sunset views and a sense of camaraderie.
Sharon and Mike Marshall, who took on a previous Cambridge Star Shine Night Walk, said afterwards,

“Absolutely blown away by the whole evening – can’t wait for next year’s event – looking forward to wearing fancy dress for that one!”

Registration is now open, and participants are encouraged to sign up early to take advantage of the early bird price which runs until the end of April. To register and find out more, please visit arhc.org.uk/ssnw or call 01223 675888. Star Shine Night Walk is open to anyone aged 10+ (under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult). The 5-mile route is also wheelchair accessible. Four-legged friends are welcome to join you too.

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire, living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end-of-life care. Services are provided free of charge to patients and their families, helping them to make every moment count. We care for more than 3,800 patients each year at the Hospice in Cambridge, the Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech and in patients’ own homes.

It will cost over £14 million to run our services in 2025/2026. Contracted services from the NHS are budgeted at £8.1 million but this will be reduced following a change of contract worth £829,000 a year, in vital funding.

With the help of our community, we need to raise over £6 million through donations. So, grab your trainers, challenge yourself and help us raise much needed funds for people who really need us.

We’re excited to see you in May and June!
