Michelle Knight, Matron in Palliative Medicine/Registered Manager and Palliative Care Hub Service Lead, has signed up to climb North Africa’s highest mountain with #TeamArthur in May 2026!

She has already been busy fundraising by arranging a pop up fashion show and Charity Day and has some more planned – the next one being a Spooky Triva Quiz Night on Thursday 30 October.

She has also gained the support of local businesses and has already raised over £1,200 in business sponsorship.

Michelle and her husband Ian have been in training by climbing Mount Snowden. They used this to test the weight of their back packs and to give them a sense of what it is they have taken on. For comparison, Mount Snowden is 1085 metres high and they will be climbing 4167 metres on Mount Toubkal.

Michelle shared:

“I always reflect on how privileged I am to lead the amazing team at the Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech and our Palliative Care Advice Line. We couldn’t do what we do without our community support.

I am taking on a challenge of a lifetime all to raise vital funds and am lucky to take this on with my amazing husband and dear friends. I have arranged several fun fund raising events to raise sponsorship to support patients at the Charity.”
