You can now register for Cambridge’s much-loved Bridge the Gap charity walk.
Raising money for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and Romsey Mill, the walk on the morning of Sunday 10 September will begin and end on Parker’s Piece and take in the grounds of seven colleges in Cambridge including six University of Cambridge colleges.
Early-bird booking of £16 per person is available now at arhc.org.uk/btg with up to three under-16s enjoying the walk for free with every paying adult.
The wheelchair and pushchair friendly route will be revealed soon. Walkers will be guided and helped by more than 120 volunteers and there will be a Time for Tea tent for refreshments and live acoustic music on Parker’s Piece.
Sponsored by The Cambridge Building Society and supported again by the Cambridge Independent and Cambridge 105, the walk attracted more than 1,500 walkers last year, raising £30,371 for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and Romsey Mill.
Sharon Allen, Chief Executive at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, said:
“Bridge the Gap is a wonderful and unique event. I’m really excited about what the walk has to offer to everyone who takes part this year – with previously unvisited colleges and locations, and some of the more familiar, iconic views of Cambridge. The money raised will go a long way to ensuring our two charities can continue to do the vital work that the local community expects from us.”
Neil Perry, Chief Executive at Romsey Mill, said:
“We’re looking forward to once again bringing together local people, businesses, and community groups to enjoy some of the amazing sights that Cambridge’s Colleges have to offer while benefitting two excellent local charities at the same time!”
The Cambridge Building Society, which has been headline sponsor for the last 14 years, continues in the role, alongside TTP Group, Cambridge University Press and Assessment, and Cambridge City Rotary Club. While the Co-op, Cambridge Independent and Cambridge 105 Radio are event partners.
Peter Burrows, Chief Executive at The Cambridge Building Society, said
“Bridge the Gap is a key fixture in our events calendar and one that our people and members look forward to, which is why we proudly lend a supportive hand as headline sponsor.”
“Our teams are really engaged in raising money and awareness for our charity partners, and it’s always great to see our communities come together like this.”
