After three months filled of creative corporate fundraising, Arthur Rank Hospice Charity are delighted to report on the success of the Money Multiplier Challenge to support people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care.
The Corporate Fundraising challenge ran from 1 October until 31 December 2024, and ambitious companies were tasked with competing to raise the most money from their £50 seed fund.
The aim was to creatively multiply the initial amount through various fundraising activities, with all proceeds for patients supported by Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. This year, C4B Media kindly sponsored the challenge, helping to make it a great success.
Participating companies, Springboard, Softwerx, Bidwells, and C4B media, were motivated to raise vital funds through creative and engaging activities, making a real difference to those in need of hospice care in Cambridgeshire.
Staff at Bidwells (Phill Theaker from Bidwells featured in the main image), based in Cambridge, were incredibly busy organising a variety of events, including a dress down day, raffle, office golf, silent auction, bake sale, a Christmas quiz and more!
Springboard colleagues were in action selling their delicious pizzas and tasty baked goods to businesses at the St John’s Innovation Centre in Cambridge.
Softwerx employees organised a successful bake sale, and hosted a virtual games night, which was a hit with colleagues in Cambridge.
Sponsors, C4B Media staff held a unique cheese and wine night in Royston, with fun cheese-related games and a raffle.
Sharon Grocott, Managing Director of C4B Media, sponsors of the challenge, commented:
“It’s heartwarming to see the community come together to support such an incredible cause. The funds raised will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of those the Charity supports.”
The Charity are thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s challenge in two categories:
- For companies with more than 100 employees: Bidwells
- For companies with fewer than 100 employees: C4B media
Special mentions go to Springboard for fundraising in ‘the most delicious way’ with their homemade woodfired pizza sales, and to Softwerx for fundraising in ‘the most unique way’ by hosting a virtual gaming night!
Congratulations to the winning teams and a huge thank you to all participants for their remarkable commitment and innovative fundraising efforts.
Overall, Corporate Supporters raised an incredible £5,647.65. This makes a huge difference to patients at the Charity as this could fund the annual cost of patient transport, or the replacement two Inpatient Unit beds (including mattress and topper), or the base for nurses working in the Huntingdon area for one year.
Sharon Allen, CEO, congratulated participants by saying:
“Thank you to all of the businesses that took part in our Money Multiplier Challenge with such enthusiasm, creativity and energy. We are extremely grateful and the funds raised – in excess of £5,000 – will make a real difference to people who need our services. We’re also pleased to be engaged with such community minded companies and look forward to continuing our relationships with them.”
We send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Money Multiplier Challenge. Your dedication and generosity will enable Arthur Rank Hospice Charity to continue to support people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care.
Looking ahead, we are excited for the 2025 challenge and invite even more businesses to get involved across the year.
