Shyla, from Newton on Isle, near Wisbech, has decided to take on her third walking marathon at just 11 years old.
This time she will be stepping out for the Alan Hudson Centre in memory of her friends Mum, Kim Tarbie.
Kim was cared for at the Alan Hudson Centre and by the Charity’s Hospice at Home Team at the end of her life. Shyla’s Mum shared:
“We know that Arthur Rank Hospice Charity have supported many people that we love and care about, so this is the least we can do.”
On Saturday 2 May, Shyla, Kim’s daughters Kenzie and Keira and other family members and friends will be doing something slightly different. She explained:
“We will walk two 10 mile laps and two 3 mile laps. With the little extra bits, this will take us to 27 miles. As always, we will be looking for people to walk with us for the last lap.”
Community Partnership Officer at The Alan Hudson Centre, Toni Bird added:
“Shyla is an inspiration. To take on this challenge at such a young age is amazing and the patients and staff at the Alan Hudson Centre will be so grateful.
We would also like to say a huge thanks to Black Cat Residential for sponsoring Shyla’s challenge.”
