London to Paris Cycle Ride

Join us in July 2026 for the incredible London to Paris Cycle Ride.

We’re seeking adventurous cyclists to take on this epic 434km (271m) ride, which finishes at the Eiffel Tower.

Are you ready to rise to the challenge?

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity have teamed up with St Nicholas Hospice Care and St Elizabeth Hospice to offer this unforgettable fundraising challenge. #TeamArthur has 10 places available. All your fundraising will go towards supporting people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care.

Cycling from London to Paris is one of the great cycle experiences in Europe. Passing through picturesque Kent countryside, we cross the Channel and continue through the small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France.

With long days in the saddle and some strenuous hill-climbs, the sight of the Eiffel Tower, our finishing point, will evoke a real sense of achievement.

We have partnered with experienced operator, Discover Adventure to guide you through your adventure of a lifetime!

Everyone is welcome – individuals as well as friends, family or corporate groups. This is a very special journey, from fundraising to cycling, and by the end you’ll have some fantastic new friends.

To ensure you are fit and ready for the challenge, the Challenges Team at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity will help you with your training plan. There will be an opportunity to get together with your #TeamArthur Challengers beforehand.

Costs and fundraising

You will need to pay a £149 registration fee to secure your place on the challenge and we then ask you to raise a minimum of £2,300 for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

We can support you with your fundraising, with setting up an online page and a helpful Fundraising Guide full of ideas to get you started. Your fundraising really makes a difference, we care for around 3,800 patients each year at our Hospice in Cambridgeshire, the Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech and in patients’ own homes via the Arthur Rank Community Team. Our outstanding care is provided free of charge to patients and their families. People like you, taking up challenges like this, enable us to continue to offer these services.

The London to Paris cycle ride is an epic adventure across the countryside, from one iconic city to another. It’s one of the best cycle routes out there and such a great charity to raise money for. The sense of achievement when you see the Eiffel Tower and realise you’ve just peddled your bike all the way to Paris. Truly unforgettable!

FAQ's

When is the cycle?

The London to Paris Cycle Ride for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is 8-12 July 2026.

The ride is 434km (271 miles). This is broken down into 5 days with the approximate distances being:

Day 1 – 136km (85 miles)
Day 2 – 114km (71 miles)
Day 3 – 104km (65 miles)
Day 4 – 80km (50 miles)

Yellow 3: A good entry-level grade, perfect for first challenges. As the level increases (3 being the maximum), expect more challenging distances and some tougher terrain. Trips with camp or dorm-style accommodation are graded harder than those with hotels.

We’ll supply you with a full kit list, but essential items are a bike, a helmet (compulsory) and water bottles.

Each of the three charities are aiming to have a minimum of 10 cyclists representing them, so we’ll be a group of around 30.

Absolutely! Most people will be coming along on their own so do not worry. We’ll organise a pre-event get together so you can meet your other cyclists, and we’ll set up a Whatsapp group so you can chat ahead of the ride. After taking on this challenge of lifetime together, you’ll find you have a special bond with your fellow cyclists. You’ll be buddied up with another cyclist to room share.

We also welcome friends, family members and colleagues to join together as well.

Yes all cyclists need to be over 18.

No! This event is open to all. Experienced cyclists are welcome, just as much as those who are looking to challenge themselves and have never done something like this before. If you are prepared to put in the training, you are welcome!

You’ll be asked to complete a medical form ahead of the cycle ride. If you have any concerns about your fitness to take part, we suggest talking to your own Doctor and showing them a copy of the itinerary.

All transport from London to Paris return (by ferry and Eurostar), 4 nights hotel accommodation on a twin share basis, all meals except where specified, Discover Adventure crew (number dependant on group size), vehicle support throughout the trip, route information, standard bike return for your collection at St Pancras following group Eurostar. 100% of the carbon emissions from your trip are offset.

Not included in the costs are travel insurance, any meals specified ‘not included’ in the itinerary, bicycle, cycle helmet (compulsory) and water bottles, optional Discover Adventure bike courier return to home service, personal spending money, souvenirs and drinks, any applicable surcharges as per Terms and Conditions.

Accommodation will be hotels or lodges of a 2-3* standard or equivalent. Standards may vary between the hotels but they are generally comfortable and convenient for our route. Hotels are often on the outskirts of towns to minimise unnecessary extra mileage and avoid traffic.

Trips are sold on a shared accommodation basis, usually twin-share, in hotels convenient to the route.

You can tell us if you are travelling with someone else on the trip when you book or within your passenger portal, and we will do all we can to accommodate this request.

Lunches will be a mix of restaurants along the route or supplies will be purchased from local shops; dinners are usually eaten at the hotel. For larger sized groups we may opt to cater the lunches ourselves with a buffet style provision. Being vegetarian or having other dietary requirements is not usually a problem provided you let us know well in advance.

Yes. You are welcome to invite others to join you as you make this epic journey from London to Paris, however please note that they will need to make their own arrangements for travel, accommodation and food.

Yes, of course! We understand that you may wish to stay in Paris a little longer, or maybe visit some other areas of France while you are there. If you wish to make your own travel arrangements, that is fine – please get in touch with us if this is something you are thinking about doing so we can go through the plans of doing so.

It’s important to set out a plan and break this figure down into chunks. An online fundraising page is a great place to start, and we can give you everything you need as well as some helpful tips to make the most of this.

On top of that you’ll need to be a bit creative – who do you know, what do you enjoy, who can help you?

A great idea is to aim for an event to really make a lot in one night. Things like a quiz night, bingo, music night with a raffle have been very successful for people in the past.

Does your employer offered matched funding?

Can you do something like a big car wash in your area, rope in friends and family so you can do lots of cars in day.

We’re here to help and support you, and can help you make a plan.

You can book your place and pay your registration fee here.
