The Brighton Marathon is one of the UK's favourite 26.2-milers and second largest marathon. With a stunning backdrop of the sea in one of the country's most vibrant cities, the race gets bigger and better every year. For 2019 there is a new start time!
Renowned for its buzzing atmosphere and roaring crowd support, the updated course winds through the city streets, finishing up on the spectacular Brighton seafront.
The marathon is just one part of the Brighton Marathon Weekend attracting 15,000 participants, an event that also encompasses the BM10K and youth event, the Mini Mile Races.
The Brighton Marathon Weekend was founded by former international athlete Tim Hutchings and by former Brighton club athlete, Tom Naylor. The event is organised by the Grounded Events Company ltd. The first running of the race took place on 18th April 2010.
