Thank you, Wisbech! Star Shine Night Walk raises over £13,000

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity’s Star Shine Night Walk returned to Wisbech for its second year, bringing together 150 participants for a moving evening that raised more than £13,000 (including Gift Aid) for local hospice care in Cambridgeshire.

The event saw supporters walk 6km through beautiful surroundings in memory of loved ones, with bright pops of colour lighting up the route and creating a special atmosphere throughout the night.

Toni Bird, Community Partnerships Officer based at The Alan Hudson Centre for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity said:

“It was wonderful to see the Star Shine Night Walk grow in Wisbech this year. To have 150 people come together to support hospice care and walk in memory of loved ones made for a truly meaningful evening.

We are incredibly grateful to the 30 marshals and 10 volunteers whose support and encouragement helped the event run so smoothly and to every participant, sponsor and supporter who helped make every moment count.”

Supporter, Laura Safi Sahli Waterfield added:

“Star Shine Night Walk 2026 in Wisbech was a fantastic evening raising money for a very worthy cause. It was such a lovely evening, even though there were moments of sadness as we remembered our loved ones. It’s a great event which allows us all to give something back for the amazing work they do and Toni Bird is a superstar for putting it all together.

The Alan Hudson Centre cared for my sister and her family during her terminal diagnosis, and their care is second to none. Each and every member of staff goes above and beyond. Our town would be totally lost without them and we need to keep supporting them at every opportunity. Well done to each and every person involved.”
