The seven dedicated runners who successfully completed the TCS London Marathon 2025 and raised an impressive £31,000 to support the Charity (with donations still coming in) should be very proud of their outstanding achievement.
Aaron Davidson, Bradley Morris, Craig Brown, Guy Marcuson, Hannah Moden, Lauren Wilson and Matt Bell who trained rigorously for months, took on the challenge on one of the hottest days, with unwavering determination and a shared goal of supporting the vital services provided by Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
Their collective efforts have not only showcased their athletic prowess but also their commitment to making a difference to the lives of people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end of life care.
“We are incredibly proud of the #TeamArthur marathon team” said Gina Thomas, Events & Challenges Manager at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
“Their dedication and hard work have resulted in a remarkable fundraising total that will significantly impact the care and support we offer to our patients and their families. We are so grateful to them, for spending hours training through the winter months and their amazing fundraising efforts. Our thanks also go to everyone who has sponsored and supported them. “
Guy Marcuson, whose family are from Foxton took up the challenge for a very personal reason:
“The Hospice holds particular significance to me as it is where my Dad was looked after exceptionally well in the final few weeks of his life in 2022. So well in fact that he felt like he was at the Ritz! The atmosphere at the Hospice takes away a lot of the stress and sadness of the situation thanks to the wonderful and attentive staff”.

“I am running the London marathon to raise the profile of the great work the Lympheodema Clinic do and have done for me personally. This clinic is part of the wider support services offered at the wonderful Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.”

Hannah Moden from Littleport was running in memory of a loved one:
“I am running the London Marathon in memory of my Grandad who was cared for by Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. My family are so grateful for the love and care that both he and us, as a family received. We, as a family are so thankful to them and raising money for the Charity has been such an honour”.
After the day Hannah said:
“I cannot believe that I have run the London Marathon! The atmosphere and the crowds were amazing and running up to Tower Bridge has to be one of the highlights – it was incredible. It was a very emotional day and I’m so honoured that I was chosen to run for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, it’s a day I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”

Second time marathon runner Lauren Wilson from Coton said:
“I am running in memory of my mum, Maryann Thwaites who sadly passed away in 2016. Arthur Rank Hospice Charity do some truly amazing work, and I can’t thank them enough for the support they gave my mum throughout her diagnosis. They help so many people and their families in a variety of ways, and their hard work will never go unnoticed. Thank you to their whole team!”
On finishing the run, Lauren said:
“The day was incredible and the crowd really helped carry me around. I am overwhelmed with the amount of support and people who have donated! Thank you for letting me be a part of the Arthur rank team!”

Aaron Davison from Cherry Hinton was running for his friend Kirk. It was Kirk’s wish that Aaron run the marathon to raise funds for the Charity’s service, and the Fundraising Team at the Charity had to make a quick shortlisting decision, so that Kirk knew Aaron had been entered to the Marathon before he died. Aaron added:
“Arthur Rank Hospice did so much to support Kirk and his family, so it is an honour to be helping the Charity where I can”.

Craig Brown, from Wisbech ran in memory of his Mum, Kay Brown, who was cared for by the Hospice at Home Team:
“The Charity provided the most amazing palliative care to my Mum. Not only was that so important for her but also it helped us as a family, be able to spend every possible second with her in the comfort of the family home. On the 6th of August 2022, Mum peacefully passed away with her family around her. So, I ran the London Marathon in her name. To be completely honest I would run to the ends of the earth to have her back but seeing as that’s not possible, raising as much as I can for this amazing cause is my goal!
There will never be enough we can do to say thank you [to Arthur Rank Hospice Charity] but if we can help to ensure these amazing people are still able to provide the best possible care for people and their families then I will do whatever I can.”
Matt Bell, ran in memory of his mum, Karen Bell, who passed away in 2011, while being cared for at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. Matt shared:
“The care and compassion my mum received from Arthur Rank Hospice is why I’m running the marathon for them. It would mean the world to me to give back to the Charity and help them continue their amazing work. I want to raise as much as possible for this incredible cause.”
