Commitment recognised by the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire

Our Charity was delighted to be visited not once, but twice, by the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Caroline Bewes DL before she passed the baton to the new High Sheriff.

At the end of March we congratulated Toni Bird, Fundraising Coordinator, on receiving a High Sheriff award in recognition of her commitment and dedication in raising funds and awareness of the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech.

Toni was delighted (if not a little shocked) to accept her award on behalf of everyone in our fundraising team who work so hard to raise the vital funds needed every year to deliver our care, free of charge, to our community.

The award was presented to Toni at the Wisbech Castle by the High Sheriff and the Mayor, Cllr Andrew Lynn and his wife Reema Pate Lynn, Mayoress of Wisbech.

Toni commented:

“I am so very privileged to have received this award for the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre and Arthur Rank Hospice Charity as there are so many worthy people here in Wisbech who deserve to be recognised too. What an absolute honour -I had no idea.”

Volunteers recognised

Earlier this month we welcomed The High Sheriff to the Hospice, who presented awards to six of our volunteers for their ‘outstanding commitment and dedication for exceptional voluntary service to Arthur Rank Hospice Charity’.

The High Sheriff gave a fascinating description and history of her role, before presenting the volunteers with a framed certificate.

We are so grateful for the time and dedication of all our volunteers who help us support patient care in a variety of ways throughout the Hospice. We know those who received the awards were very honoured and we are certainly feeling very proud and congratulate them.

We look forward to welcoming the new High Sheriff of Cambridge, Jennifer Crompton to the Hospice shortly.
