When the Lady Captain of Gog Magog Golf Club approached us in October 2019 stating their intention to support Arthur Rank Hospice as their Charity of the Year during 2020, little did they know what lay ahead. Colleagues attended the golf club for an initial presentation full of inspiration and fundraising ideas of how their support could really help the Charity.
Lady Captain, Ros Thorburn, is no stranger to the Charity as she is already known to volunteer here so knows how vital the work of the Hospice is.
A series of events were able to be held both before and during the pandemic not least a Golf Day that was held in October 2020 between lockdowns. This day saw volunteers and Ambassadors of the Charity attend a wet and windy day amidst some lockdown restrictions, including not being able to meet indoors. We are so grateful to them all for braving the inclement weather.
It took a good few months later but finally we were able to attend a cheque presentation towards the end of September 2021 where we were able to express our sincere gratitude for all the fundraising the Golf Club were able to do during such difficult times.
Thank you so much to everybody involved in raising this substantial sum of money.
