Sheila's story, our shop volunteer

27 March 2015

I began volunteering 8 years ago after retiring from full time employment.I started in the Regents Street shop but now also help in the Mill Road shop. Sometimes I also help at the Labour Club furniture shop so volunteering keeps me busy!

I really enjoy knitting and knit children’s wear for the shops (my only grandchild now lives in Australia so certainly doesn’t need jumpers anymore !!!).  I also knit Easter chicks and rabbits and this year have added mice and ladybirds to hold small
Easter eggs!

I thoroughly enjoy my volunteering in the shops. When I was in full time employment I never met the public so I love interacting with the customers !
I have long been a supporter of the Arthur Rank Hospice as my late mother-in-law was a patient  and was looked after marvellously, as were other members of my family and friends.
