Lucy, Gifts in Wills Officer

09 May 2017

When I first told people I was applying for a job at the Hospice, they looked a bit bewildered and I too questioned if I would be able to work in this environment.  However, the minute I walked through the doors, I knew I could.  I was greeted with a friendly smile, and was asked, in only the way your mum would, if I would like a cup of tea.

The Hospice just had a happy and calm vibe about it – why wouldn’t you want to work in this environment?!

Having worked here for some time now, I can say that the feeling I had walking through the door has not disappeared.  Staff are so approachable and supportive.  Just because I work in the Administrative area, doesn’t mean that I do not feel part of the wider team.  We are welcome to spend time working alongside the volunteers on the ward or in Day Therapy, which is something I really value because it reminds me of why my job really is no ordinary job.

Would I recommend working here?  Absolutely, which is why I was delighted to come back!

If you would like to chat about what’s involved with leaving a gift to Arthur Rank Hospice in your Will, please give me a call on 01223 675881.
