Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire who are living with a life-limiting illness. Delivered from our new location at Shelford Bottom, Cambridge and the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech, our care and services are provided free of charge. Our professional, compassionate and practical services deliver care, counselling and education, helping our patients and their loved ones to make every moment count.
Our excellent staff survey results in 2018 helped us to achieve gold accreditation in the Best Employers (Eastern region) and also our services at Alan Hudson Centre have achieved an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating.
We are proud to offer a specialist palliative in-patient and day care for Fenland residents over the age of 18, which is provided at the North Cambridgeshire Hospital. The Alan Hudson Day Treatment was opened in January 1998, thanks to the tremendous fundraising efforts of the local community. It provides all the services required by patients with life-threatening illness, their families and carers.
In this new and exciting role, as a Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurse, you will work predominantly in the community, to provide expert knowledge and skills in the provision of specialist palliative and end of life care to patients, who are living with an advanced serious illness or a life-limiting condition. You will also support their families/carers and the Primary Health care team.
The ideal candidate will be a Registered General Nurse with relevant post graduate qualification or equivalent experience, have knowledge, understanding and experience of palliative and end of life care as well as to be able to work unsupervised, manage own case load and make decisions related to care planning.
DBS check and full, clean driving licence will be required for this role.
