Gold Challenge in a day
This challenge is great for those who’d like to complete their challenge on one day in a more traditional setting of an event or even in the gym. It's a great way to test your fitness or push yourself to the next level

2012 Challenge
This challenge is great for teams or those individuals who want to push themselves. There are varying levels of involvement depending on how adventurous you are feeling. Take on one of the following distance sports as a team:
- Running (jogging, road-running, on a treadmill or on a track)
- Walking (on a treadmill, on a track, rambling or hillwalking)
- Cycling (in a gym, on a track, on the roads or off-road)
- Swimming (in a pool or in open water)
- Canoeing/Kayaking (inland or offshore)
- Horse riding
- Rowing (on a rowing machine or on water)
- Sailing (inland or offshore)
- Windsurfing (inland and offshore)
- Wheelchair (track, road or in a gym)
and cover one of the following distances:
- 2012 km
- 201.2 km
- 20.12 km
For our younger participants we recommend taking part as a class, youth group or extended family at any of those distances. You could even tailor your fundraising target to hit £2012.00 as a group!
Olympic Sport Challenge
If you can’t decide on a sport or haven’t tried many of the Olympic events then this is the challenge for you. The Olympic Sport Challenge encourages you to take part in 3 hours coaching or a competitive event in 5, 10, 20 or 30 sports! This is an ideal opportunity to really vary your Gold Challenge.
Perhaps you could dedicate the first Saturday of the month to a new sport and make it an occasion for a group of you. With such variation this challenge really lends itself to writing a blog or posting lots of photos on social websites like Facebook.
School holidays could be made all the more fun for younger Gold Challengers with schemes set up in local sports centres. Either sponsorship could be raised or a fee to participate charges. Feel free to contact the Fundraising team for lots more ideas on how you can tailor the Gold Challenge to suit you.
Youth and Family
Gold Challenge is the perfect opportunity to get everyone, even dad, off the sofa and out doing some fun activities for Charity and for some exercise. There is no minimum fundraising target or level of expected sporting expertise. Groups like families or classes might like to plan a short bike ride, a morning of badminton, learning judo or a penalty shootout. |
