We can’t believe it’s almost March - only two weeks until the
Cambridge Half Marathon
You know the Cambridge Half Marathon is imminent when you walk along the Cam on a Sunday morning. Unusually for Cambridge, the runners outnumber the cyclists! Wet weather and high winds haven’t deterred any serious challengers and we are delighted to welcome 10 runners to Team ARHC for the 2014 event.
How is your training and fundraising going? Let us know by tweeting us @arthurrankhouse and using #TeamARHC, or tagging us on Facebook!
A Homecoming Half Marathon
Bring your family and friends to the Cambridge Half Marathon to cheer on Team ARHC. Our 10 runners will loop twice around the route, past the most iconic sights the city has to offer.
To support Team ARHC email or call the fundraising office today on 01223 675888 to get your free Arthur Rank Hospice Charity banner to wave. Line the route (click to download from One Step Beyond) to cheer on the runners, who will have their names on their vests, and then head back to Midsummer Common for the finish. Most runners will be finishing sometime between 11am and 12noon.
For anyone who has requested a Team ARHC running vest, we will be sending them over the next week so keep an eye out for the postman.
See you there!
Every challenger needs a holiday!
It seems getting together on a weekend in summer is proving rather tricky. With so many challengers taking a well-earned holiday, we have rescheduled our first 2014 Challengers event held at the Hospice from Saturday 24th May to Thursday 1st May 2014 at 6.30pm for 7pm.
As well as taking the opportunity to visit the Hospice and meet other challengers in Team ARHC, there is an opportunity to hear from Keith Gallois and Tim Titmarsh (pictured), fresh from climbing Everest Base Camp, as they talk about their intrepid adventure.
Family and friends, as well as those interested in taking on a challenge, are all very welcome! Please let us know if you can make the date by clicking HERE.
Nothing gets that Friday feeling like jumping 12,000 feet from a plane!
Very excitingly our first Team ARHC Jump Day is on Friday 11th July. We already have 5 brave souls ready to take the 12,000 feet plunge and we are on the hunt for more.
The day takes place at an airfield in March, Cambridgeshire and includes full training to complete your tamdem jump.
If you know of anyone who has ‘do a skydive’ on their bucket list or fancies a new challenge for 2014 then let us know!
Taking part is simple, you can book your jump for £70 and all we ask is that you raise a minimum of £395.
